The Government led Energy Company Obligation Scheme (ECO) helps families who are on low incomes and in receipt of government benefits to reduce their energy bills. If you meet the criteria you could get a free grant towards a new Boiler, Insulation or First Time Central Heating in your home.
All the big energy companies like British Gas, EDF, E.ON, Npower and Scottish Power are required by the government to help you save money on your heating if you meet the scheme’s criteria. The easiest way they can do this is to provide better insulation and more efficient heating for your home.
Private tenants and homeowners looking for a free boiler grant now have an opportunity to apply.
The government is working with the leading energy providers to offer free boiler funding to eligible residents. The free boiler scheme is helping the government meet the provisions under the ‘Affordable Warmth’ clause. Free Boiler Grants remain trusted home heating professionals who can help you to apply for free high-quality boiler repair and replacement services.

It is also possible that you could qualify for help under ECO Flex rules governed by local authorities who can provide boiler grants for low income households who are considered vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold home and could qualify for assistance under the Affordable Warmth Scheme. Each local authority has slightly different rules for eligibility so contact us if you find you are not eligible under the boiler scheme.
Under Floor Insulation
Under Floor Insulation or UFI requires Insulation material to be carefully installed below the floor, in between the joists and installed strategically to ensure continuity below the damp proof course to minimise heat losses through un-insulated floors and basements. This saves on unnecessary heat losses through the floor and means you heat your property less and save on energy and home heating costs. This prevents the cold rising through the floor from the ground into your property.
- Free Under Floor Insulation, to qualifying homeowners in receipt of one of the benefits listed above when installed alongside a Boiler Replacement under the grant scheme
- Save on energy costs and heat loss through the floor
- Insulation can help save up to 20% of heat loss through the floor
